Like many little girls, my baking career began by pulling a chair up to the kitchen counter, begging my mom to let me crack the eggs, or mix the dough, or pour the batter into the loaf pan. Few things give me greater pleasure than knowing that someone enjoys a treat I've made specifically for them. And while I never set out to shape my lifelong delight for baking into a profession, I'm somehow not surprised that it led me here.
